The Tale of Jolly Robin by Arthur Scott Bailey

This is the story of a cheerful robin named Jolly. He was named "Jolly" by his father for his happy laugh. Who knew that such a funny little robin could get into so much trouble? Jolly's story is full of fun and childlike appeal. The author sprinkles information about the natural world into the story, making the story fun and educational.

I'll be honest: I really liked this book. It's funny and clever. But, my oldest daughter felt a little differently. She struggled with the older language and writing style. She was unable to read the book with comprehension. I read the book aloud and she enjoyed it. I am hopeful that as her reading comprehension increases, she will be able to read some of the other Arthur Scott Bailey books independently.
